EMS 1188 - Patient Care Clinical EMS 1188 - Patient Care Clinical 2 Credits Provides supervised work experience in the hospital and emergency prehospital environment. Emphasis on performance of psychomotor skills, patient assessment, development of critical thinking, leadership and development of interpersonal skills in an actual patient care setting or simulation environment. Anticipate and prospectively intervene to improve patient outcome. Demonstrate exemplary professional behavior including but not limited to: integrity, empathy, self-motivation, appearance/personal hygiene, self-confidence, communications, time management, teamwork/diplomacy, respect, patient advocacy, and careful Perform a comprehensive history and physical examination to identify factors affecting the health and health needs of a patient. Formulate an impression based on an analysis of comprehensive assessment findings, anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, and epidemiology. Relate assessment findings to underlying pathological and physiological changes in the patient’s condition. Integrate and synthesize the multiple determinants of health and clinical care. Effectively communicate in a manner that is culturally sensitive and intended to improve patient outcome.
