THTRE116 — Script Analysis
3.0 HR (TC) This course introduces the student to the techniques and approaches of reading and understanding scripts and other dramatic literature as the foundations of theatre production. Special emphasis is placed on the cultural, historical, and sociological context in which various scripts and dramatic literature were written, as well as the equivalent circumstances which may affect a contemporary production. This foundational skill teaches critical thinking and reception as well as literary analysis. Three lecture hours per week.
