6.0 HR. (OC) Prerequisite: SURTK 120 with a grade of C or better. This course is a continuation of Introduction to Surgical Technology with emphasis on acquiring knowledge and skills of scrubbing and assisting during surgical procedures in the operating room and delivery room. Specific areas of study include: surgical landmarks, surgical anatomy, incisions and terminology related to laparotomy, hernias, breast, veins, and rectal, obstetrical and gynecological surgical procedures. Five lecture and two lab hours per week.
