PHYS212 — ENGR PHYS: Elctric/Mag

4.0 HR. (TC) Prerequisite: A grade of C or better in PHYS 211; a grade of C or better or concurrent enrollment in MATH 224. This course is a continuation of PHYS 211 and is a study of electricity, magnetism, and geometric optics for students majoring in engineering, mathematics, physics, or chemistry. Topics will include Coulomb's Law; electric fields and potential; resistance, capacitance, and inductance; DC and AC circuits; magnetic forces and fields; Laws of Gauss, Ampere, and Faraday; Maxwell's equations and electromagnetic waves; geometrical optics and polarization. Three lecture and three laboratory hours per week. (PHY 912)
