MECTK201 — Mechanisms
3.0 HR. (OC) Prerequisite: PHYS 112 with a grade of C or better and MATH 130 with a grade of C or better. This course is a study of existing mechanisms and their motion characteristics. The position, velocity, and acceleration of linkages, cams, gears, and gear trains are analyzed. Calculations are performed using graphical vector techniques in order to develop an understanding of the concepts. Computer software is then used to design, animate, and analyze complete machines. Two lecture and three laboratory hours per week.
