EMS114 — Emergency Med Techn (EMT)

8.0 HR. (OC) Prerequisite: Placement into ENGL 095 or higher and department approval. This course is designed to prepare students to care for the victims of medical and traumatic emergencies, with an emphasis on the assessment of victims of illness and injury, and application of proper emergency care procedures. Upon successful completion of EMS 114, students may apply to take the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians EMT certification exam (must be high school graduate or equivalent and at least 18 years old to take the licensure exam). Seven lecture hours and three laboratory hours per week.
