ELCTK252 — Electronics Project Management
3.0 HR. (OC) Prerequisite: ELCTK 215 and ELCTK 245 both with a C or better or department approval. This course provides the opportunity to work on a technical project, research, or other specialized study related to the Industrial Electrical Technology program curriculum. A written plan for the project is developed and presented to a faculty advisor for possible approval. The plan will include a detailed description of the project, the number and names of the team members assigned to it, the evaluative criteria to be used, and other relevant matters. The project is carried out under the periodic direction of the faculty member. Throughout the semester the student is required to provide progress updates which are submitted to the faculty advisor and remain on file within the department, together with a final written report submitted to the faculty member by the student. The course is intended to provide a working knowledge of project management techniques similar to those employed in the work environment. One lecture and four laboratory hours per week.
