CMCIS147 — Telecommunications Cabling

4.0 HR. (OC) This course is designed to provide students with classroom and laboratory experiences in order to learn the physical aspects of voice and data network cabling and installation for employment and/or further education and training in the computer networking field. In addition, it will help prepare the student for the Building Industry Consulting Services International (BICSI) Registered Installer, Level l certification. Instruction includes, but is not limited to: safety issues; basic networking; termination of copper, coaxial, and fiber cable; Quality of Service (QoS); rough-in, trim-out, and finish phases; and wireless networking. Three lecture and two laboratory hours per week. (Formerly DATPR 147)
