HPR2173 — Lifeguard Training & Waterfront Lifeguarding
The primary purpose of this course is to provide lifeguarding candidates and lifeguards with the skills and knowledge necessary to keep patrons of aquatic facilities safe in and around the water. This course includes certification of CPR for the professional rescuer. Also, a waterfront lifeguarding module is included in the course. This covers swimming areas such as rivers, lakes, reservoirs, streams, etc. Prerequisite: Tread water for two minutes using legs only. Swim 500 yards continuously using at least 100 yards of front crawl, breaststroke, and sidestroke. Submerge to a depth of seven feet and retrieve a 10-pound diving brick.
