Practical aspects of money and banking and the basic monetary theory. A brief historical perspective is utilized. Emphasis on such problems as economic stabilization, types of spending, theory of gold, limitations of central bank control, government fiscal policy, balance of payments, and foreign exchange, showing their repercussions on the banking industry in affecting yield curves and the structuring of portfolios.
