The Critical Care Practicum is designed as clinical -based education with an emphasis on competency -based performance. The student will complete clinical rotation in a variety of critical and emergency care units. Students will be required to complete a minimum of 90 hours of clinical rotations. However, students will be required to continue in the clinical setting until successfully performing the prescribed number of s kills relative to critical care prior to completion of the course. Six hours clinical. Two hours credit. *Clinical components should be completed at a medical center with a full line of services including but not limited to Emergency Medicine, Surgery, Interventional Cardiology, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Orthopedics, Critical Care Medicine, and Pediatrics. Not all services must be available at a single facility. Depending on the student’s clinical background, clinical rotations may be fitted to meet the ed ucational and competency needs of the individual.
