EMS 1163 — Emergency Medical Technician I
An introductory course in the foundational concepts of the Emergency Medical Services. Lecture will include topics in the history of EMS, well- being of the EMT, medical -legal issues, communication, documentation, A&P, Pathophysiology, life -span development, patient assessment, and vital signs. Laboratory experience will include training in patient assessment and vital signs. Two hours lectur e. Two hours laboratory. Three hours credit.
