HIT2643 — Advanced Coding Systems

Add to Catalog 3 ( The student will practice coding guidelines by applying CPT/HCPCS codes to procedural coding cases and scenarios. This course is an introduction to coding with the Health Care Financing Administration’s Common Procedural Coding System (HCPCS) with emphasis on Current Procedural Coding (CPT); and review of current reimbursement mechanisms. (2 hr lecture, 2 hr lab)

Prerequisites: HIT2133, HIT2543, HIT2823
