Provides instruction designed for police and fire personnel, business and industry employees, or anyone desiring training in the initial care of accident victims. The overall object- ive of the course is to improve the quality of emergency medical care, to provide basic life support, and to take any other actions necessary to minimze the patient's discomfort and prevent further complications. State Department of Transportation certification is granted to successful completers. Delivery of course content is through 24 clock hours of lecture and 16 hours of clinical experience.
