ENGL 232 — Ethnic Literature from the US

This course will introduce literary works by writers who identify with various American ethnic groups, with an emphasis on African American, Asian American, Indigenous American, Jewish American, and Latin/e American writers. Emphasis will be on discussing and analyzing the concepts of ethnicity and Americanness. Students will be tasked with thinking, reading, and writing critically while examining a variety of texts.
