POLC2281 — Defensive Tactics
This course provides students with the physical skills and academic knowledge to perform the basic functions of a law enforcement officer when tasked with physically controlling a suspect. This course provides effective guidelines for the student to make defensive decisions in the field regarding the reasonable use of physical force and reinforces past and current case law related to peace officer’s use of force in cognitive areas where de-escalation may be needed.
