PLST2139 — Injection Molding Process II
This course is a continuation of Injection Molding Process I and is designed to introduce the student to the top 10 materials that are used in the injection molding industry and the proper way to set-up an injection molder for each material. Each material will be investigated and the properties and molding characteristics identified that will improve the setup of processing each material. This course utilizes an industry-leading, internet based interactive training program, Paulson Training, to promote safe usage of standard injection molding equipment and processes. In this course, students will breakdown the injection molding process and learn how to set the clamp, injection unit, and ejectors for the desired part material. Students will also be introduced to the different major types of molds and will create setup sheets for each type of mold.
