PHIL1401 — Health Care Ethics

This course introduces students to basic issues in health care ethics. Because everyone interacts with the health care system—whether as a patient, a family member, or a health care worker—this class is helpful for students in any major. Emphasis will be placed on understanding major ethical theories and approaches and using them to explore a variety of ethical questions in health care. The course teaches students how to create and explain strong moral arguments. Throughout the course, we will focus on how different ways of ethical reasoning can help us understand and address problems that come up in health care settings.
