ENGC1070 — Additive Manufacturing Finishing Techniques

This course covers finishing techniques for models created with additive manufacturing (3D printing). Model joining techniques such as threaded fasteners, adhesives, plastic welding, and interlocking joints will be applied to projects. Model smoothing techniques like vapor smoothing and epoxy coating will be explored as well. Surface preparations, filling, priming, and painting will be applied to a practice project. A hands-on experience in creating silicone molds from 3D printed parts for short-run production and part duplication is included in the course.
