EMSV2060 — Personal Safety and Wellness

This course focuses on the knowledge and skills community paramedics need to maintain personal safety, physical health, and emotional well-being while delivering care in non-traditional and community-based settings. Emphasis is placed on recognizing and mitigating safety risks during home visits and community encounters, including environmental hazards, occupational violence, infection exposure, and situational awareness. The course also addresses strategies for preventing injury, managing fatigue and stress, and supporting long-term resilience in the paramedic role. Through case studies, practical scenarios, and evidence-informed practices, learners will develop approaches to protect themselves, promote wellness, and sustain safe, effective practice across diverse community environments.
