EMSV2050 — Chronic Diseases in Primary Care I

This introductory course provides community paramedics with a foundational understanding of common chronic diseases encountered in prehospital and home-based care settings. Emphasis is placed on how chronic conditions affect patients’ daily functioning, healthcare utilization, and quality of life. Participants will explore the pathophysiology, risk factors, and typical disease progression of prevalent chronic illnesses such as diabetes, heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), hypertension, and chronic kidney disease.
