ELEC2200 — Radio Frequency Communications

This course introduces radio frequency (RF) transmission in both wired and non-wired (wireless) media. High frequency signals and the properties of the propagation media. Students will be introduced to numerous definitions, parameters and technical measurements used in the RF field, to be calculated and measured in the laboratory. Students will also be introduced to cable types and specifications; basic and practical antennae; as well as strong points of wave guide and optical fiber. Mathematical, graphical, computer and measurement methods should be introduced and used to solve a variety of problems, including the analysis of two-port networks and impedance matching.
