CBTG2432 — Furniture Fabrication (Intensive Studio)
Furniture Fabrication (Intensive Studio) is an advanced, project-based studio course focused on the design and fabrication of high-quality, free-standing furniture. Building on prior coursework in cabinetmaking, CNC machining, and computer-assisted design, students synthesize digital workflows with advanced hand and machine techniques to produce original furniture pieces that meet professional standards of craftsmanship, accuracy, and finish. Students work through the complete fabrication process—from concept development and digital modeling to material selection, joinery, surface treatment, and final assembly—while managing time, workflow, and quality control in a studio environment. Emphasis is placed on design intent, structural integrity, efficiency of fabrication, and critical evaluation of finished work.
