ABCT2080 — High-Voltage Safety and EV Systems
This course introduces students to the safety requirements, system components, and operational characteristics of electric vehicles (EVs) in the collision repair environment. Students learn high-voltage (HV) safety protocols, de-energization procedures, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) handling guidelines for batteries and HV components. The course covers EV system architecture, battery pack construction, thermal management, and high-voltage cable routing as they relate to collision damage assessment and repair planning. Laboratory activities focus on safe work practices and the interaction between EV systems and body repair operations.
