Translators and interpreters have a fundamentally important role in the cross-cultural dialogue that drives international business, scientific and technical progress, literature, art, and social relations. Acting as cross-cultural experts and mediators, they to convey meaning across linguistic and cultural barriers in many settings: from court appearances to healthcare appointments, from international conferences to business negotiations, and from books and articles to websites, mobile apps, and movies.
