STS 2936 — Surgical Certification Symposium

This course presents an overview into the surgical technolo- gists certification exam. Preparation and understanding of the basic sciences as related to surgical technology. Correlate the preoperative diagnosis interventions, common complications, and operative pathophysiology relative to specific surgical procedures. Describe the principles of problem solving, ethical decision making and risk management as related to the surgi- cal patient. Provide health care within the ethical/legal frame- work of the surgical technologists role.
