This introductory course on ethics emphasizes the application of ethical theories to contemporary moral issues such as abortion, euthanasia, punishment, and the death penalty. The course also examines major moral theories through readings and selected primary materials, including selections from the Western canon. This is a course for which students will produce extensive college- level writing and which requires completion with a minimum grade of "C." +
