This course introduces the student to military history of the United States from the colonial period to the present with emphasis on institutional, technological, social, political, cultural, and diplomatic contexts in times of peace and conflict. Major themes and coverage of noted wars will focus on three periods: colonial, continental expansion, and overseas expansion. (CSU/UC) (AA/AS-4, CSU-D, IGETC-4, Cal-GETC-4)
