Investigates the effect ethnicity, gender/sexuality, religion, marginalization, globalization, and social justice has on pop music. We will look at how local (traditional) and global (post-rock n’ roll/pop) music is used by different cultures as a way to express identity and global membership. Class covers a range of musical genres from K-pop to Afrobeat. Satisfies Requirement: Humanities/Fine Arts/English and Diversity Course
