Ski Area Management
The Ski Area Management Program at Gogebic Community College is one of the nation's most comprehensive training programs for careers in the snow sport industry. Technical and academic study is combined with a five-month Co-op internship at major resorts coast to coast. Students spend freshman year and the first eight weeks of sophomore year completing coursework, using the campus-owned Mt. Zion Recreation Complex as a training laboratory. The Co-op Work Experience is the program capstone, providing hands-on operational experience in an actual resort environment.
Prerequisites: A valid driver's license is required for completion of this program., A 2.0 cumulative GPA (C) is required in all SAM courses as a prerequisite to enrollment in SAM 230/231 Co-op Work Experience Program.
