Early Childhood Education
This program prepares teachers and assistant teachers to work effectively with children in preschool programs. Early childhood educators link home and school by communicating with parents and meeting the needs of children and families. Graduates are prepared to attend to children's basic needs, prepare stimulating curriculum, foster independence and self-esteem, and create safe, healthy learning environments. The program is employable upon completion and designed to be transferable to four-year institutions.
Prerequisites: Students are required to work closely with the transfer coordinator and intended transfer institution to select relevant coursework, Transfer institutions may require a GPA of 2.7 or higher and satisfactory scores on a basic skills test
