Corrections Officer
The Corrections Officer Certificate Program prepares graduates for employment in prison settings, including maintaining order, enforcing rules, escorting prisoners, and supporting counseling programs. The program meets and exceeds Michigan state requirements for local and state corrections officers and is certified through the Michigan Correctional Officers' Training Council. Coursework satisfies the 15 semester credits required by the Michigan Department of Corrections. An optional one-semester Occupational Certificate is available for immediate employment. Credits may also be applied toward an Associate degree.
