ELM 102 — Analysis of Public Utility Industry
This course addresses the history and legacy of public utilities in the United States as they have existed for more than 100 years. This course presents the most up-to-date information available on utility operations and the changing utility environment. Special emphasis is placed upon the foundations of utility regulation, the complexities of delivering gas and electric services, and an analysis of a utility's income and expenditures. In addition, this course offers a continuing look at the status of public utilities and the changes that are occurring within the gas and electric industries, with a special emphasis on understanding how utility services are produced and delivered to the customer. Finally, this course presents the most up-to-date information available on utility environment, while retaining discussion on those important utility issues which recur over the years. 120
