NURS 215 - Advanced Mental Health NURS 215 - Advanced Mental Health 1 Hour(s) This course builds on previous foundational mental health knowledge and focuses on the role of the professional nurse in providing care to patients with complex mental health conditions. The nursing process will be utilized to formulate clinical judgments that promote and restore mental health. Emphasis will be placed on therapeutic communication and utilization of evidence- based guidelines and integration of data obtained from patient care technologies/information management systems. Theoretical knowledge related to acute and chronic mental health conditions is utilized to develop teaching plans for patients, families and the community that promote wellness, reduce risk, and minimize complications.
