PHIL 101HF — Honors Introduction to Religious Studies 3 Units
54 hours lecture per term. This Honors-enhanced course is an introductory study of religion with emphasis on the origins and functions of religion, religious experience, and religious and theological modes of expression. Course content will be drawn from Eastern and Western traditions, ancient, medieval and modern times. As an Honors section, this class will employ enhanced teaching methods such as a seminar approach, more research-based writing assignments, and assignments calling for a higher level of critical thinking.
