NUR1411C — Nursing Care of the Family

This course introduces concepts related to the delivery of nursing care to childbearing families and clients with alterations in health using the concepts within the three domains: human being, healthcare, and nursing as a profession. Emphasis is placed on the concepts of oxygenation, sexuality, reproduction, grief/loss, mood/affect, behaviors, palliative care, family, health-wellness-illness, communication, caring interventions, managing care, safety and advocacy. Upon completion, students should be able to provide safe nursing care incorporating the concepts identified in this course. Clinical experiences will be provided with clients across the lifespan in diverse care environments.
