INT1402 — Interpreting in Edu Settings

This course is an introduction to the essential topics within educational interpreting, including an exploration of best practices, the role of educational interpreters, specialized terminology commonly encountered in educational settings, key competencies required for educational interpreters, and adherence to professional guidelines governing this area of the interpreting profession. Students will apply various interpreting modes within educational situations and engage in interpreting exercises, observations and continued involvement within the Deaf community. A component of service learning is included in this course.
