The participants strengthen their content knowledge in civics, citizenship, and the philosophical foundations of America¿s constitutional republic. Participants examine citizenship under the Fourteenth Amendment, the naturalization process, the obligations and responsibilities of citizens, major historical documents that shaped constitutional principles, and Enlightenment ideas that influenced the Founders. Through primary source analysis, structured learning activities, and a standards-aligned lesson design project, participants apply course concepts to classroom instruction and civic education practice. Participants collaboratively reflect on lesson plan development completed during the asynchronous seminar. Participants engage in facilitator-guided discussion, peer collaboration in breakout groups, and whole-group reflection focused on strengthening civics instruction, improving lesson design, and applying seminar concepts to classroom practice.
