BED0556 — CURM Mathematical Research II
The CURM Mathematical Research Scholars Program -II is part 2 of a collaborative, research-focused course that engages students as active contributors in undergraduate mathematics research. Working in cross-institutional teams, students participate in weekly virtual sessions where they design AI-based classroom activities, analyze data, and contribute to ongoing research projects. Emphasizing a hands-on approach, students develop assessment materials, create reflective journaling prompts, assist with coding and data analysis, and engage in structured discussions that connect mathematical theory to real-world applications. Throughout the course, students gain experience presenting their research at local, regional, and national conferences, strengthening both their academic and professional skills. This program fosters collaboration between two-year and four-year institutions, supports student success and transfer readiness, and provides a rigorous, supportive environment for early-career scholars to explore mathematics through research and innovation.
