The Basic Fire Academy program offers curriculum to prepare students with the knowledge and skills necessary to become a State of California Certified Firefighter 1. Employment opportunities are found in various branches of government and the private sector. The academy is offered in two different formats; an intensive 40 hours per week program or an extended 24 hours per week night program. PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS: To qualify for the program, applicants must:Be 18 years of age or have a high school diploma or G.E.D.
