PHT 2162C - Neurological Disabilities and Treatment Add to Personal Catalog PHT 2162C - Neurological Disabilities and Treatment College Required Grade: Pass with a C or better This course presents the human nervous system and selected neurological disabilities encountered in physical therapy practice. It is designed to give the student a foundational knowledge of the methods, types and uses of a variety of appropriate therapeutic techniques utilized with patients that have neurologic conditions. The etiology, pathology, and clinical manifestations of common adult and pediatric neurological diseases are studied, including theories of development and developmental sequence, prehension, life span changes in the body systems, posture development throughout the life span, development reflexes, and equilibrium/righting reactions. Application of physical therapy modalities and exercise programs that are effective in the treatment of each condition are presented.
