SOJU 100 — Sex, Gender, and Society

This course introduces students to a sociological analysis of the social construction of gender, masculinity, and femininity historically and cross-culturally. Students will be introduced to approaches, methods, theories, and feminist perspectives to analyze a range of social issues affecting individuals of diverse backgrounds. The course focuses on how gender intersects with race, class, sexuality, dis/ability, age, religion, and other systems of difference to shape individual and group experiences in society. SOJU100.
