HIST 130 — Native American History

Survey of Native American history from 15th century to the present. Examines Native American cultures, economies and ways of life and their evolution including Spanish, French and British periods of colonization. Course emphasizes Native American responses and resistance to invasion and colonization including the roles of race and racism, self-determination, and sovereignty, as well as the relationships of Native American nations to the Federal Government from 1790 to the present.
