ENVR 136 — Animal Husbandry on the Small Farm

Animals can be an important part in creating a closed-loop nutrient cycle on small farms. This course will explore the many benefits of including animals on your farm including soil regeneration, nutrient contributions from manure, and the foods they can produce including dairy, eggs, and meat. This course will introduce animal husbandry techniques with raising poultry for eggs and meat, pigs, goats, rabbits, and other small animals. Field labs will include hands-on projects at local farms.
