This course introduces the student to professional concepts, roles of the nurse, and fundamental concepts of nursing practice. The focus is placed on wellness and health promotion across the lifespan. Critical thinking is introduced in the context of the nursing process as the basis for clinical reasoning in nursing. Development of knowledge, skills and attitudes occurs in the nursing laboratory and community settings within the healthcare environment.
