This course is designed for those who plan to enter a health care field to develop proficiency in the use of medical terms. The development of medical terminology using a human body system approach incorporates the combination and interpretation of word elements. Medical prefixes, suffixes and anatomically related word roots are combined to form anatomical, diagnostic, symptomatic and surgical medical terms. Additionally, emphasis is placed on correct pronunciation, spelling, and abbreviation of medical terms.
