EDN 204 — Exceptional Individual (3) (3,0)

Students will be introduced to children with exceptionalities, including the historical, legal, and philosophical foundations of special education as identified by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Students will examine Universal Design for Learning, differentiation, and inclusive practices. Students will explore diversity and intersectionality of exceptional learners and the assets they bring to the classroom is included. A 30 hour directed observation is required.
