ECN 101 — Fundamentals of Economics (3) (3,0)

This course introduces students to the basics of both macroeconomics and microeconomics. It includes an examination of the overall performance of the U.S. economy and its individual units. Topics studied include supply and demand, cost theory, market structures, economic growth, inflation, unemployment, the business cycle, fiscal and monetary policies, and the global economy. The topics covered rely on basic use of graphs and numerical calculations. This course is not recommended for students pursuing a degree in any field of business or for economic majors. Those students should take Principles of Microeconomics and Principles of Macroeconomics instead.(1.1) Fulfills the ECC/IAI General Education/Social Sciences requirement.
