Offers the student the o pportunity to develop the manual skills necessary to produce quality multi -pass welds on 5" diameter, schedule 80, mild steel pipe, using 1/8" E6010 roots and 3/32" E7018 fill and cover passes in the 45degree 6G fixed position. It offers the student training to qualify as a welder in accordance with Section 4, Maine Boiler Rules, and ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section IX for welder qualifications. 4-week course (80 hr.) Prerequisite: WEL 136 (WELD 136)
