Introduces math concepts that are used in nurs ing to pre -nursing students. Topics include dosage calculations, IV drip calculations, medication label reading, syringe and medicine cup measurements. Math concepts utilized include (but are not limited to) addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals, fractions, conversion between metric and standard units of measurement, and algebra. Dimensional analysis is utilized to help the student solve dosage calculation problems. This course is a prerequisite to the Nursing program.
